Visitors can enjoy the park daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. It is connected to the Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve through bike trails. Visitors can enjoy hiking and biking, playing sand volleyball, or zip-lining through the park. A park pass is not necessary to explore the trails.
Another historic landmark in Plano is the 1908 Plano Station, home to the Texas Electric Railway. Completed in 1908, it is one of the finest examples of Spanish revivalist architecture in the area. It is home to the Interurban Railway Museum and features restored carriages from the days of the Texas Electric Railway. The Texas Electric Railway connected Plano to the rest of the rail network. For outdoor recreation, Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve Plan-Texas’ lake features a 158-acre lake and a network of trails. The park is also home to a radio-controlled airplane park and demonstration gardens. There is a farm museum and outdoor exhibits of rural history. Visitors can take classes and learn more about this rich history. Although there is no playground in the park, it’s open to the public from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. During winter months, the park closes unexpectedly. Restroom facilities are located in the office building.
